Basic Stuff Magazine

I co-founded this online entertainment magazine in 2016 with fellow designer, Sam Pedley. Together we came up with the branding and visual identity that was used consistently throughout our content. I served as Creative Director and Editor In Chief, and managed a team of up to 16 volunteers throughout the years. Our content included interviews, convention coverage (including press coverage at San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con) and photography, articles, interviews with fandom creators (such as fanartists and fanfiction writers) and charity events. Our most successful charity campaign helped raise over $22,000 for The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ youth. Our outlet is currently on hiatus, with no new content scheduled at this time. We still produce a quarterly podcast called Whats The Obsession With...? that can be found on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
